Google Updates Target API Level Requirements for Android Apps

Google this week announced updated target level API requirements for Android applications in an attempt to improve the overall security of the ecosystem. Per the updated requirements, all applications will have to target “an API level within two years of the latest major Android release” to remain discoverable for new users with devices running newer Android versions.
