Western Digital launches internet-connected My Cloud Home & Home Duo drives

Western Digital on Wednesday released the My Cloud Home, a network-attached storage (NAS) drive intended to provide both local and remote access to personal files. The My Cloud Home plugs into a Wi-Fi router, and can be configured using the My Cloud mobile app for iPhone, iPad, and Android. It supports automatic sync/backup of data from phones and computers, and can also be hooked into third-party cloud services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Plex, and IFTTT.

Amazon & Microsoft reveal plans to allow cross-access for Alexa and Cortana

In an industry first, Amazon and Microsoft have announced that people will soon be able to access Alexa from Cortana, and vice versa, including through iOS. Starting “later this year,” people will be able to access Alexa via Cortana on Windows 10 PCs, Microsoft said on Wednesday. Cortana, meanwhile, will be accessible from Alexa devices like Amazon’s Echo speakers.
